A First Glimpse at the Legendary Cast
The debut footage reveals Matt Damon portraying the king of Ithaca. Audiences are introduced to Tom Holland playing the son and Anne Hathaway depicting the loyal wife. In a poignant moment, the character pleads with her husband to vow his safe homecoming, only for him to respond by asking what happens if he cannot. The trailer also offers a brief, shadowy glimpse of the mythical one-eyed giant, from whom sheep are Odysseus and his crew steal on their treacherous voyage.
Adapted from a cornerstone in classic storytelling, The Odyssey chronicles the epic journey undertaken by the famed ruler. After his triumph at Troy, which is depicted within the companion epic, the king faces an extended and hazardous return to his homeland.

Along his path, Odysseus confronts numerous obstacles and legendary creatures. These include the enchantress Circe, who transforms men into swine, and the deceptive Sirens. Regardless of these ordeals, Odysseus vows to overcome anything to get back to his wife and son on his home island.
The adaptation's cast is remarkably star-studded. Alongside the leading trio are Charlize Theron portraying the shrewd goddess, together with Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Elliot Page, and Jon Bernthal.

Homer's epic has seen numerous adaptations throughout history. These range from contemporary versions to a 1999 ballet. There has even been adapted into a musical titled Epic: The Musical, presented as a nine-album collection.
