"People in the office has been making comments about it being over for the last two weeks," stated Sam Ryding.

"Our expectation had been that we would have a meaningful contest by the time we arrived."

Yet now they are looking at the possibility of continuing a barren spell in the country to 19 games when the Boxing Day Test begins in Melbourne this week.

The England team - and their supporters - will be keen to prevent a clean sweep.

It was mentioned that the "thrill and enjoyment" of head coach the positive style of play in recent years had "renewed interest in" Test cricket for England fans.

But the Ryding siblings said they had low expectations for the fourth and fifth Tests - and all they are hoping for from the players is "a bit of fight".

"All analysts points it out, but it all is about psychological strength. 'The aggressive approach has been elevated to a term now that is just, like, unrealistic play," added Rory.

"Over the course of five days, you should apply yourself. Playing at deliveries 'wide of off stump has never been in the textbooks, and that is mainly the fault the top order."

The Remaining Matches

When questioned if he believed England will triumph in a Test in this contest, one fan responded: "It appears the Aussies are just too good currently."

"Necessarily, there must be multiple performers that makes a significant contribution and makes a big impact."

"We are going to have a wonderful trip nonetheless," commented Katie Ryding. "Our approach is that attitude."

"Naturally, it's unfortunate we can't contest the series, but we have spent so much money already."

"We plan to savor spending the festive season in Australia. This will be mine and Rory's first time away from home over Christmas."

An educator, Katie is determined to make the most of the lengthy journey as part of her Christmas holidays.

"As a backup plan, there's always golf to fall back on," Katie concluded.
