First Story: Top Player Palmer Fit for Important London Derby with The Gunners

The Blues head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed on the final weekday that Cole Palmer is available for selection for the squad's important top-flight match against London rivals Arsenal.

The 23-year-old England international was unavailable due to a broken toe incurred after an unfortunate occurrence.

“He is fit to begin and feature,” Maresca commented. “The whole team is delighted.”

In the current campaign, Palmer has been limited to four outings in every contest, scoring twice.

Since his arrival from Manchester City in 2023, he has achieved 45 scores and 29 helpers in 101 matches for the London club.

“He is our most valuable asset, we are pleased he is back, we need to give him time to be fully fit,” Maresca noted. “He has done fantastic in the past and no doubt he is going to do exceptionally well for this club in the future.”

2. Everton Get No Explanation for Failed Gueye Dismissal Appeal

Everton were unsuccessful in their appeal against Idrissa Gueye's sending off for a physical confrontation with fellow player Michael Keane during the team's narrow win at Manchester United.

The 36-year-old Senegal midfielder was dismissed just 13 minutes into the contest after slapping Keane during a argument over a misplaced pass.

The player immediately apologized, and the pair were seen reconciled afterwards in a mock social media video.

However, the challenge against the dismissal was denied, and Gueye must complete a three-match ban, making Everton shorthanded for their upcoming fixture against Newcastle United.

“We lodged an appeal and it was unsuccessful,” manager David Moyes stated. “We received no rationale for the denial but we did appeal it.”

Inquired about any further fallout from the event, Moyes continued: “It ended right away, it was done, that was it, we moved on swiftly and it was all sorted within the team environment.”

Third Story: Wissa Trains with Newcastle for Initial Session since Injury

Newcastle United's recent acquisition Yoane Wissa has practiced with his squad for the first time since sustaining a knee injury shortly after his arrival from his former club in the autumn.

Head coach Eddie Howe announced the development on the end of the week but withheld a possible return date for the 29-year-old.

The team signed the forward for £55m to replace Alexander Isak, who moved to Liverpool for a British record transfer fee.

Unfortunately, Wissa was injured while on international duty before he could play his first game for Newcastle.

“He is progressing nicely, he trained with us for the first time on Wednesday, so I was very happy with how he looked,” Howe stated. “It was his initial competitive session with the team. Let’s see how he reacts today.”

Howe continued: “We’ve got [a return date] in mind, but it’s likely best if I do not share it publicly. We wish to prevent any disappointment. Of course, we want to involve him as soon as possible.”

In other news, Kieran Trippier will be out of action for a month with a hamstring issue.

4. The Reds' Poor Form ‘Irrelevant’, Says Hammers Manager Nuno

West Ham United manager Nuno Espírito Santo has insisted that Liverpool' current slump “is largely irrelevant” as his side prepares to face the struggling Premier League title holders.

Arne Slot's team has suffered six losses in seven recent Premier League matches, dropping out of the top 10 of the table.

However, Nuno emphasized that there can be no complacency when the sides meet on the weekend at the their home ground.

“Liverpool is a good team and in football, what matters is what you do on the day,” Nuno said. “So what we expect is the champions of the Premier League, players that are talented and capable of doing fantastic things, so we have to be ready.

The club's manager Sean Dyche is hopeful that Morgan Gibbs-White will be available for the team's home match against Brighton on Sunday.

The England international missed Thursday's European match against Malmö due to a back injury.

“Fortunately, it seems to be calming down,” Dyche said as he prepared to face the Brighton manager's team, who have taken seven points from their last three outings.

“It’s like a bad back, but a waking-up sort of injury, one where you just sleep funny or move improperly. So we’re not anticipating, at this point anyway, that it’s very severe and it’s improving already. So we’re hopeful that it’ll be fine for the weekend.”

The defender was experiencing discomfort in his hamstring after the 3-0 European win, but Dyche said the player “is expected to be okay”.

However, Ola Aina (thigh injury), Douglas Luiz (thigh), the winger (hamstring), Chris Wood (knee), and the defender (hip) are expected to miss out.

6. Glasner: Conference League Loss Will Not Hinder Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner feels that the setback of Thursday's European defeat to the French side is a sign of how far the club has come in competing on two fronts.

The FA Cup holders went ahead at the away ground through Tyrick Mitchell's opening period goal but were pegged back by Liam Rosenior's team, who climbed to runner-up in the table.
